  • Total Time: 6 minutes
  • Yield: 11 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 400 g oats – about 4 cups
  • 50 g whey, unflavored ( ~2 scoops of Nutricost whey)
  • 3 g salt (~1/2 tsp of Morton Kosher Salt)

Instructions

Prep the high-protein oatmeal

  1. Using a large food processor, chop the oats on high for about 10 seconds. This helps the oat cook faster in the microwave.
  2. Add the whey and salt to the oats and mix together with a spoon or spatula. Do not use the food processor or it will make the whey sticky.
  3. Add to an air tight container to store. This makes about 11 servings.

Cook the high-protein oatmeal

  1. In a large microwave safe bowl, mix together 1/3 c. of the high-protein oatmeal and 2/3 c. water.
  2. Microwave on high for 1.5 minutes. Stir, then cook on high for 1 additional minute. Watch it while cooking to make sure it doesn't overflow!
  3. Let it cool to thicken, or can add a little water to thin it out.
  4. Add your favorite toppings, such as fruit, fruit spread, nuts, cinnamon, maple syrup or honey. For more topping options, see the Flavor Options section below.
